intended to practice using a method for calculating the area of a trapezium

the space underneath each shape is for students to show their steps

for this resource the shapes need to be congruent

half of the trapeziums have an easily spotted rule

can students explain why the rule works?

this work offers an introduction to perpendicular gradients (or rotations of 90 degrees)
