3 by 3 by 3 cube

this 3 by 3 by 3 cube is made up of either (all) red or (all) yellow cubelets

all views look the same as this one
the cubelet right in the middle is red
how many red cubelets are there?

if all the views are not the same as this one and the middle one is not necessarily red, what is the most and least number of red cubelets there could be?

only red or yellow cubelets are involved
