boxes: going between two numbers by multiplying and dividing
the powerpoint is here
after some simple questions, going between two numbers,
questions lead on to a proportions ('boxes') format: given three numbers, find a fourth (known historically as the 'rule of three')
examples illustrate (hopefully) that you can choose to work either (a) to the right or (b) downwards and obtain a correct answer either way
there are probably too many examples on the powerpoint - these are intended to be worked through at a canter or a gallop
