prime intercept?

this is from Robert Smith's 'symbo1ics' blog

the prime numbers are shown on the positive y-axis (where the increment is 1)
'integer' points on the left side of the graph y = x^2 are joined to 'integer' points on the right hand side

prove that such lines can never (ever) intersect the y-axis at a prime number
