divide a two digit number by the sum of the two digits
e.g. 32 / 5 = 6.4

when is the result a whole number?
when is the result as small as possible?

considering various families of 2-digit starting numbers:
  • establish that there are four ways that you can obtain a result of 4(and four ways to obtain a result of 7)
  • what happens for starting numbers that are multiples of 9?
  • what relationship, for the 2-digit starting number, provides a result of (a) 5.5 (b) 3.25?
